What I’ll Be Writing Here

Welcome, once again, to Staton Research! As I work to get my research business off the ground, this website will certainly be a work in progress, but I am excited about all the possibilities that this blog page brings. Using social media to share blog posts around, I hope to make this a multipurpose space for sharing a few different things:

  1. How-To Guides, Tips, and Tricks - Life has given me a very unique set of research skills, and I want to share them with the world! I know that not everyone will want to pay someone else to do their research tasks for them - especially when it comes to their own family tree - and I want to share tips on how to get started and some ins and outs of the research world to enable people to do some research for themselves.

  2. Local History - One of my favorite things I’ve been able to do in the past is writing local history articles. Covering a wide range of topics was always fun and interesting, and I loved the overwhelming response that each article would get. In that same spirit, I would love to use this website’s blog as another space to share Simpsonville history with the world.

  3. Advocacy - As a researcher of history, I have seen firsthand how quickly the buildings around us and important records among us can be lost to time - and in so many of these cases, a lack of public knowledge is the reason why. If there is any way that I can lend my voice to help to save a historic structure, stop someone from tossing those old family photos, or reunite two long lost relatives before it is too late, then I will do my best to make it happen!

If you have any suggestions for things you’d like to see here or history information you’d like shared with the community, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
