Genealogy and Family History

Family Trees

  • For Beginners

  • Variety of Products

  • Great as a Gift (think Weddings and Baby Showers!)

Starting from the beginning? Full-scale genealogical research services are available, whether you’re ready to dig into your own roots or give the gift to someone else. With just the smallest bit of information to get started, we can put together full family histories and work with you to turn them into the whatever finished project you desire. Our past products have included basic research reports, large framed family tree posters, and comprehensive family history books.

General Research

  • For Any Amount of Research

  • Basic Hourly Rate

  • Brick Wall Assistance, Transcriptions, etc.

Not everyone needs a full-fledged research service, so we are also available for genealogical research needs of any size. Struggling to break past a brick wall in your research? Curious about whether an old family story is really true? Wondering what country an ancestor emigrated from, or the origin of your last name? Can’t read a handwritten document and need it transcribed? We can help with any of these issues and more.

DNA and Genetic Genealogy

  • Help with DNA Results

  • Adoption Search Assistance

In the last decade, the biggest change in the genealogy world has been the availability of at-home DNA tests. Have you taken one of these tests and been surprised by the results? Or, did the results leave you wanting to know more about your relatives and ancestry? Although it can be difficult to make sense of the results and often very confusing to use them to research, we have some experience and will do our best to help. Similarly, although sealed records may leave our hands tied, we will do our best to help with requests related to adoptions.

A Few Notes…

  • Based in South Carolina

  • Foreign and Minority Research Limitations

  • Research Ethics

Staton Research is based in Simpsonville, South Carolina - and we are the most knowledgeable about the records and resources of the Upstate, South Carolina, and (generally) the Eastern US. When it comes to families in these areas, this is where we shine! However, it is therefore important to note that we are not experts on the records of all regions and countries. Additionally, it is important to note the constraints of access to foreign records, as well as the constraints of researching minorities. One final note along these lines - we do our best to practice good research ethics, and we encourage everyone to keep in mind that history can be complicated and painful for some people. Please keep this in mind as you begin your research journey!

Whether you want to uncover your entire family tree or just figure out the next step, we can help!
