Simpsonville Genealogical Research Room
Opened in 2015, the Simpsonville Genealogical Research Room was created to give the community a place to research their family histories and to get help with their research questions. The Room closed in 2021, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, but the spirit lives on through Staton Research and @simpsonvillehistory.
Reuniting Family with Purple Heart
In 2013, Andrew was contacted to help find the family of a missing Purple Heart that had been found at a local flea market. Through diligent research, Andrew was able to locate the family and return it to them. Featured locally on Fox Carolina and nationally on CNN.
Images of America: Simpsonville

History Articles for Local Newspaper
Andrew contributed to The Simpsonville Banner (a local newspaper running from 2014-15), writing monthly columns covering local history. Additionally, Andrew served as guest editor for the May 2015 issue, dedicated to National Historic Preservation Month.
Simpsonville History
Andrew created and actively maintains the Simpsonville History Instagram account, which manages and shares photos and histories of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Contributing Research to National Register Nomination and House Histories
In addition to writing multiple house histories, compiled through extensive research into the deeds and plats of local histories, Staton research has experience with the National Register Nomination process. In 2018, Andrew conducted research at the Washington D.C. Naval Base and National Archives, College Park to contribute to a larger effort to help place a Charleston building on the National Register of Historic Places
